The Park District also maintains five neighborhood parks for residents’ enjoyment. The Park District publishes its recreation brochure, which includes programs for all ages, three times a year. Palatine Public Library
Hennen’s American Public Library Rating Index has named the Palatine Public Library among the top five libraries in the nation serving populations between 50,000 and 100,000 people. The Palatine Public Library’s excellent ranking is due in part to the high per capita use of library services by the community. For example, the Youth Department is the busiest among public libraries in the northern suburbs.

The Palatine Public Library has begun a number of exciting initiatives, including the Rand Road Branch, located in the Northeast Community Resource Center. This branch features a full range of library materials including internet access. The Palatine Public Library also offers bookmobile service, which visits many of the large apartment complexes in Northeast Palatine Township and stops at public schools that serve this same population. The bookmobile carries more than 4,000 books in English, Spanish, Russian, and other foreign languages.

Palatine Township
The Palatine Township offers many services, including: a senior citizen center with activities and bus transportation; youth programs and services; a food pantry and general assistance; and an assessor’s office offering property tax information and assistance.
